Bit under the weather

Caught a cold off Kate the other day and have felt like a poo parlor ever since.

It’s a nuisance because not only have I been feeling crappy but I have a very fragile mood in the motivational stakes, if I’m ill I pretty much do sod all.

Even worse being ill I forgot to get my prescription and have been without Mr Zac the Professional for 4 days, I could feel it leaving my system yesterday.  Felt weird as hell.

Oh Well. But yeah, there’s been plenty I’ve wanted to blog about recently but just couldn’t be arsed.

When Harry Met Larry

When Harry met LarryI’m not sure what “When Harry Met Larry” is going to take the form of; an animation or a comic strip, i dunno but I’m gonna do it, I am I am I am. Actually I can’t be bothered, can someone else do it for me? Hey, maybe it will be a game!

Come to think of it, maybe I should set up a production company, and deck the place out with palm tree’s and soup dispensers. It’s an idea isn’t it. Hmm.

Diet-ManGabi, on my animal crossing game has given me a nickname, she’s now calling me “Super T”, I think we’re in love, and she’s still reminding me a lot of Monica, well except, Gabi keeps running around catching butterflies and I suspect Moni would frown upon that. I’ve also had my house extended but I have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it’s going to be like, I asked for a pink roof.

I finished New Mario this morning, easiest end of game boss ever lol! Weird thing is, you can complete it whilst not having found 2 out of the 8 of the worlds. But I’ve now managed to unlock them both, which was probably harder than completing it. Shit, I have so been playing that thing way too much haven’t I? My DS lite is so awesome :-)

There’s still the bizarre talk from many directions of a possible Apple + Nintendo tie up. It’s so wishful thinking! Company wise I expect they would clash massively, they both are too much the jealously guarding secret types. Nintendo have always been extremely closed and very much like to be the loners, sitting in a corner playing with themselves, um. Some podcast suggested what could happen though is maybe Apple license some early nintendo games for inclusion in a future iPod. I dunno how early we’re talking, maybe as far back as NES. But that would still be super duper.

Itchtoon2I have this overwhelming urge to port one of my favourite OSS apps (not saying which, don’t want to get any-ones hopes up) to the mac, with a completely overhauled interface, in cocoa by my design. I attempted to start it today and surprise surprise, didn’t get very far before giving up. Well maybe not forever but for the moment. Trying to make your way around other peoples code, around a project you’ve never seen the source of before has to be one of the most stressful activities. You start off so optimistic but EVERYTIME that optimism is turned to desperation, trying to piece the puzzle together. Hate jigsaws. I got so stressed that I started to scratch and had to give up, it was doing my skin no good at all. haha. Ah well. I think it was exacerbated by trying to import the project into xcode, which I’m still not entirely buddy buddy with and I had a great deal of trouble getting it to adhere to the include paths. It kept telling me it couldn’t find some header files and I was pointing to the screen yelling “They’re there! I’ve showed you them already!” Ah well.

So one of the first thing’s I do of a morning is to wake up the mac and check bloglines, in the hope that the sooner i do that and catch up on the gossip the sooner I can get on and do other things. There’s getting to be too much of the damn stuff though and i’m not sure what the reason is, partly I suppose it is that I keep adding more blogs to my feed without taking some of the oldies out, but also I think the blogs such as boing-boing and gizmodo with their multiple contributors are just writing way too much these days. They go on and on and on. I think there should be some way of filtering out posts, maybe by tag, say choose on bloglines not to have any posts that are talking about microsoft in your feed. A rating system might be an idea as well, although that would be very difficult to implement, it could involve a 5 star rating against each blog post and each time you rate a post it’s sent to some kind of central service such as technorati, and then when you RSS Reader collects todays feeds it can check each post against the ratings at technorati and bin any that are below 3 stars. Well, i dunno, it’s an idea.
