Eddie doesn’t appear to have noticed that he is trapped, he’ll wimper soon i’m sure. Just watched Question Time, which is always on at a time of day when you reeeeaaaallly don’t want to be watching Question Time. Came across it on T’Wests Teleport Reply, so hey it can come in handy sometimes. Why am i bringing this up? Oh yeah they were talking about school reforms and the whole grammar school system with the 11+ and all that kept being brought up and it made me think. The grammar school system basically segregates brainy kids from kids with average and below abilities, and d’ya know what, I would have almost certainly failed the 11+. Not only because i’m not the sharpest tool in the box but also because I was an incredibly stressed out nervous child and just the mere mention of an exam made me sweat profusely and turn my brain to jelly. Now here’s the thing, my best friend is a brainy swine, now a city lawyer and always and forever a straight A+ kinda guy. If we had had the 11+ in my day we would probably never have met, and I wouldn’t have the privilege of being his best man later this year. OMG, bring back the 11+! Stress stress stress stress.

I watched Brokeback Mountain the other day and forgot to mention it. Wonder why. Dave2 has mentioned that he found it incredibly boring. Well I actually quite like ’slow’ films, they’re relaxing and its nice to just chill for a while, and it is beautifully shot and all… But’s that’s still no reason to inflict that southern drawl accent on us all! This is one instance when I would quite liked to have had a film dubbed. Haha. Ah well, seriously though, as far as gay films go this was just, well, ‘pleasent’, IMO. I don’t think I would even include it in my top 10 gay themed films, it is certainly not the most affecting by a long way and the only thing i can think of that has brought it so much attention is that it has come out of mainstream hollywood. Or maybe it’s their way of apologising to Ang Lee for not giving crouching tiger enough awards? Who knows.
