A home at the end of the world

My imaginary friend called Susan told me to write about a book I have just finished reading called “A Home at the End of the World” by a Mr Michael Cunningham.

Home End World I have no idea where I had heard of this book and yet it was in my amazon wish list over christmas and a so a friend had gifted it me.

Turns out it was a page turner, for me at least it hit all my buttons.  Starts off as a rites of passage for 2 gay kids, well, 1 gay kid and a wavererererer.  Carries on as an “oh crap what has happened with all that time we had in our lives” circle of friends type affair.  It’s beautifully written with chapters written in first person by each person involved in the story.

Turns out there is a film adaptation, but it looks as if the film is a bit naff from I can tell.  Ah well.

My imaginary friend, like me, is named Dave.

So if you ever call my name and I don’t respond, it’s because I think you are speaking to my imaginary friend, not because I am ignoring you. :-)
