Wordpress
I migrated from Movable Type to Wordpress today. Earlier today I tried to post a entry and movable type wouldn’t let me, ecto just gave me some obscure error, and movable type did a page forbidden on me, bizarrely because it was the same page, mt.cgi as the rest of the interface. Odd. Well, this was the last straw, as much as I enjoy using movable type if something does go wrong it’s just too much of a crazy system to work out and solve, part of the reason is because its perl based I guess. But yeah, I’ve always been clueless with it when it came to errors.
Turns out, wordpress is all php, and I didn’t even know that until today, I speak it’s language! And its all gone swimmingly, well, I haven’t finished yet, but enough of it is working for me to put it live.
Ah, but then I came to post that same entry that wouldn’t post on movable type. Guess what? It wouldn’t post on here either! WTF! If I include the word x m l r p c (without the spaces) in a post the server rejects it?! wha? I thought this must be a .htaccess rule i’ve got somewhere, but I removed the .htaccess and it still won’t post with that offending word. I’m soooo confused right now! And I’ve spent a day migrating to wordpress for nothing! OMG!
Oh yeah, and near the end of setting wordpress up on the host service I spilt just a tiny bit of ale on my keyboard, I most have choose my spot on the keyboard to spill it wisely because it managed to conk out the space-bar. So i’ve had to resort to finishing up on the iBook…minus battery. What the hell is going on, I’m having a technological nightmare this month. What makes it worse is that I had a spare apple keyboard and I gave it to my brother last week because he did the same thing to his own! Arrrgh!
