Marvellous Marvells
My TV Guide widget thingy doesn’t appear to be working anymore, mind you it never did work marvellously. It’s called World TV and is on the apples widget site. It’s the only one that seemed to include a decent number of UK channels. I bet you americans have an incredible TV widget that sparkles iridescent and tells your tivo to do crazy things (’cos all american people, including those in da ghettos have tivo’s).
I’ve been having my first mac woes since first settling in. My .mac trial expired this week and as seen as I hadn’t used it even once i didn’t feel ever so inclined to subscribe. Problem is all the .mac aware apps such as mail and safari still have the .mac sync features enabled and i can’t uncheck the sync boxes in the relevant preferences, they just re-check themselves a second later. Even more bonkers is that the .mac panel in system preferences won’t let me do anything because i haven’t subscribed. Catch-22. Maybe apple didn’t expect anyone not to subscribe? I’ve moaned on apple’s .mac discussion forum but i think i got snarled at.
Some short months ago bloggers were waving about a great new Creative Commie TV delivery system called DTV, its currently mac only and I remember thinking how lucky mac owners are, I then went on to buy a mac and dutifully forgot all about DTV. Well they’ve just this second released a new version of the app and i’ve been reminded to check it out so i did and am so glad! There is one particular show on there called Channel Frederator, they basically just show short animations from various contributors. The quality of the cartoons are much higher than your average flash and has once again got me into thinking what might very well be possible if i put my mind to something. Ah well.
