Blog entry – Near Mint

Blinky isn’t blind, he suffers from boseman simplex, if we could see what he is seeing it would look something like this…

MINT MINT MINT MINT MINT MINT MINT MINT

Have you watched the cook the thief his wife and her lover yet????

Want to be me in desktop terms? No? Pah, heres my set up at the moment…
OS: XP sp1 tweaked with tweakxp
It’s still the best unfortunately :-(

AV viewing/listening: Winamp 5.03
Have always used winamp for music because it uses barely any cpu, for instance its been running for
6 hours playing music for most of that time and yet has only used 10 minutes of cpu time (it uses less than 1% cpu for most), it also
removes silence from the beginning and end of track, crossfades when you seek/jump to a difference place in a song etc etc. Has done these things for
years. Also it never misses a beat. I even have it playing music whilst i’m playing flight sim, which is extremely intensive for the comp and winamp
still doesn’t brake a sweat. I used to use BS Player for watching films but winamp 5 is now able to play divx’s just as well.

Web: Firefox 0.8
There’s something about not using IE that is liberating. Also, firefox is the first decent non-ie browser that hasn’t
pissed me off, seems to render almost every page without hicups. Free obviously too. OH, and you can download themes for it that make it look
delicious.

Email: Outlook 2003
Has a very competent spam filter built in, that just seems to work perfectly. The layout in outlook is perfect too.
Graphics: Photoshop CS
Always used Photoshop, don’t see any reason to change

Vector Art: Illustrator CS
    Same reason as above

Coding: Visual Studio.NET 2003
Whenever i’ve tried a different Coding IDE there’s always been something not supported or that i miss from vs. So
I kinda feel i’ll always be using it. Oh well.

Music Composing: Nuendo 2
Favourite Software instruments: Dcota, Waldorf Attack, Kontact
MP3/OGG Extraction: EAC
Misc: Winrar, FeedDemon, Nero Burning ROM, Alcohol 120%, 3d Max 5, MSN messenger.
